American Strategy and the Unfolding Great Power Transition

The 2008 global financial crisis along with the continued rise of China and the other BRIC powers has accelerated a great power transition that could be as far-reaching in its implications as that of the early 20th century. How the United States responds to the challenge of an emerging multi-polar world and how rising powers like China, Brazil, and India see their place in the international system will determine to a great degree whether the 21st century is peaceful and prosperous.
